Vale completes sale of ore carriers to Chinese shipping company
China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) has completed the acquisition of four very large ore carriers (VLOC) of 400,000 tonnes deadweight, owned and currently operated by Vale, Kallanish learns from the Brazilian miner.
The transaction follows the agreement confirmed by the two companies on 26 September 2014 and the subsequent contract signed during the visit of China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang to Brazil in May 2015 (see Kallanish 20 May).
