Vale appoints new head of ferrous minerals
Brazilian iron ore miner Vale has appointed Peter Poppinga as the Executive Director for Ferrous Minerals with immediate effect. He replaces José Carlos Martins who has left the company.
Poppinga was previously Vale's executive director of Base Metals and IT. During his tenure, Vale's Base Metals Ebitda increased from $600 million in 2012 to almost $3 billion in 2014, due largely to increased productivity and the removal of $1.4bn in costs fro…
