Vale and Sumitomo mothball Isaac Plains coal mine, Australia
Sumitomo and Vale are to cease commercial operations at their jointly-owned coal mine in Queensland, Australia.
Vale has announced that, it “is taking the necessary steps to place its Isaac Plains Coal Mine in Australia into care and maintenance, as the operation is not economically feasible under current market conditions. The decision was agreed by Vale and Sumitomo Corp.”
