Vale Oman increases pellet output 18% in Q2 after maintenance
Vale’s Oman-based iron ore pelletising plant saw production surge 17.7% on-year in the second quarter to a quarterly record of 2.42 million tonnes. This was also up 27.7% from Q1. First-half output thus grew 10.7% to 4.3mt.
Second-quarter performance was boosted by the resumption of production following the completion of maintenance in February. The Oman plant helped Vale increase its consolidated pellet output 23% in Q2 to 12.24mt (see related article…
