Ilyich, Ukraine to extend CR production after pickling line overhaul
Ukraine’s Ilyich Iron and Steelworks in Mariupol has completed the overhaul of its pickling line downstream of its No 1 cold rolling (CR) mill, says parent company Metinvest Group. The investment has cost over $23 million, it tells Kallanish.
The upgrade will mean improved product quality, more economical operation, prevention of ground pollution from waste water, and better working conditions at the mill, it adds.
