US steel mills shipments grow in October
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reports that for the month of October 2014, US mills shipped 8,508,477 net tons of steel, Kallanish observes.
This is a 1.6% increase on the 8,372,929nt shipped in September 2014, and a 2.7% increase on the 8,287,553nt shipped in October 2013. Shipments year-to-date in 2014 are 82,632,250nt, a 3.1% increase on 2013 shipments of 80,186,360nt for ten months, AISI confirms.
