US steel mills see monthly shipments rise in July
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reports that for the month of July 2014, U.S. steel mills shipped 8,492,744 net tons, a 2.4% increase from the 8,291,823nt shipped in June 2014 and 2.6% up compared to the 8,274,511nt shipped in July 2013.
Shipments year-to-date to the end of July 2014 were 57,269,890nt, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year compared with the 55,675,985nt moved out in the first seven months of 2013, AISI says.
