US preliminary steel imports decrease in June
The US imported 3,049,000 net tons (nt) of steel in June, or -10.3% less than indicated by May’s final data according to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). The institute, which bases its figures on preliminary Census Bureau data, says that import market share however continues to decrease.
Total monthly imports decreased on May final values and year-to-date total imports were 3% higher year-on-year at the end of June, Kallanish notes. …
