US market finished steel import share settles at 30% in November
The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reports that steel import permit applications into the US for the month of November total 3,938,000 net tons (nt). This was a 12% decrease from the 4,482,000 permit tons recorded in October and a 10% increase from the October preliminary imports total of 4,398,000nt, Kallanish notes. The estimated finished steel import market share in November was 30% and is 28% year-to-date, AISI confirms.
