US imports fall to 13-month low
US steel imports declined to a 13-month low of 3.48 million tons during the month of April, according to a preliminary count from the US Department of Commerce. The import market share was estimated to be 33% in April, Kallanish learns from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). This was despite a -4% month-on-month decline in overall imports and a -4% decline in finished steel imports.
