US import permits decline slightly in May
Permit applications for the month of May suggest US imports declined just slightly from April to May. Import permit applications totalled 3.43 million tonnes in May, down -1% from April’s preliminary import count of 3.34m tonnes, according to analysis of US government data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI).
