US Steel to idle Fairfield blast furnace in August
Mid-August, US Steel will idle the blast furnace at its Fairfield Works in Alabama, president and ceo Mario Longhi said last week. The company will continue to support flat rolled customers in the southern US either directly out of Fairfield or from its other flat rolled facilities.
