US Steel Kosice shipments surge 23% in Q1, while sales prices plunge $180
Flat steelmaker US Steel Kosice increased shipments by 23% year-on-year in the first quarter to 1.26 million net tons. Average selling price, however, plunged to $530/nt from $710/nt, while ebit/nt was down to $29 from $31. Calculated costs were also down, though, to $501/nt from $679/nt. Capital expenditure, meanwhile, rose to $21 million from $18m.
