Turkish scrap imports rebound in February, but scrap-rebar spread narrows to $163
Turkish scrap imports bounced back in February following several months of declines, as US-origin prices of the feedstock plunged $50/tonne in the space of a few days at the start of the month. Imports in February surged 41% on-year to 1.45 million tonnes, but their average price was $315/tonne cfr Turkey, down from $391, Kallanish notes from the latest Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) data.
