Turkish scrap imports fall 19% in October as mills favour billet
Turkish obsolete scrap imports declined 19% year-on-year in October to 1.5 million tonnes. This came as prices of scrap and rebar tumbled around $10 per week throughout the month owing to weak demand for Turkish finished products and competition from Chinese iron-ore based steel exports.
