Turkish mills continue reducing domestic scrap purchase prices

Turkish steelmakers reduced their purchasing prices for domestic scrap several times in the past few days. The move reflects the further decline in US scrap offers and Chinese billet offers during the previous week, Kallanish notes. Turkey’s biggest flat steel maker, Erdemir, slashed its purchasing price for domestic DKP (auto bundle) scrap to TRY 610/tonne ($230/t) on 11 July from TRY 665/t on 9 July when the price was reduced by TRY 20/t.
