Canada's Tree Island sees robust wire rod end market demand
Tree Island Steel says overall demand in the end markets it serves remains robust. The Canadian wire rod producer supplies the construction, industrial, and agriculture markets, Kallanish understands.
Sales volumes grew 6.8% year-on-year to 38,880 tons in the second quarter, the company reports. Revenues reached CAD 56.5 million ($43.7m), an 18% increase from Q2 2014. Net income soared from CAD 171,000 in Q2 2014 to CAD 2.1m in Q2 2015.
