Taigang to add silicon steel pickling line
China’s Taiyuan Iron and Steel (Taigang) in Shanxi province has begun work on a new 300,000 tonnes/year pickling line for its silicon steel works. Taigang plans to commission the new line by the end of May 2016.
Taigang expects to produce some 11 million tonnes of crude steel in 2015, of which around 4.3mt will be allocated to stainless steel. It has not released a target for silicon steel output.
