Syrian producer seeks DRI, billet to boost crude steel, rebar output
Syrian steelmaker Hmisho Steel is seeking a supplier of direct reduced iron, as it aims to use the metal in its induction furnaces in combination with scrap for the first time, a company official tells Kallanish. A shortage of scrap in Syria has prompted the move.
