Steel and iron ore stuck in mire
Chinese steel futures prices fell slightly on Thursday and iron ore barely moved. Iron ore restocking before Chinese New Year remained limited and yet again there was bad news from the real estate sector.
The Kallanish index for 62% Fe Australian fines dropped $0.31 to $70.74/dry metric tonne cfr Qingdao on 8 January as sentiment remained weak. There were again no trades on the GlobalORE iron ore platform.
