Slump in working-rig count continues in April
The worldwide working drill rig plunge continued in April. This was led by huge drops in the US and Canada in month-on-month and year-on-year comparisons, according to the latest working rig survey conducted by oilfield services firm Baker Hughes, monitored by Kallanish.
April’s international rig count totalled 1,202, down 49 (-3.9%) from March’s 1,251-rig total, and off 147 rigs (-10.9%) from April 2014’s 1,349 count.
