Simandou and Integra impair Vales Q2 14 performance
A generally positive operating performance in the second quarter of 2014 by Brazilian iron ore producer Vale was marred by impairment costs on assets related to Simandou and the Integra coal mine, the company says in its financial report for the period seen by Kallanish.
Total iron ore production increased to 79.4 million tonnes which Vale says is the “…best performance for a second quarter ever…”
