Shangang expands Jinan capacity with new converter

Eastern China’s Shandong Iron and Steel (Shangang) has commissioned a new 210-tonne basic oxygen converter at its Jinan Iron and Steel (Jigang) plant. The new furnace was part of a capacity upgrade and replaces a smaller furnace at the site, Kallanish notes.
