Severstal upgrades reheating facility at Cherepovets plate mill
The plate-rolling shop for pipe production at Severstal’s Cherepovets Steel Mill has begun construction of its sixth reheating furnace. This heat the slabs before rolling on the mill 5000. Investment in the project is about RUB 120 million ($2m), Kallanish learns.
On-site construction of the main equipment and preparatory work are completed and installation of foundations has begun. Commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015.
