Russia's Severstal no-longer needs US Finesmelt project
Russia’s Severstal has decided not to set up a metallics plant, based on the Finesmelt technology in North America. The unit was planned to feed the group’s US-based steelworks, but now that the electric arc furnace-based mills in Dearborn and Columbus have been sold, it will no longer be needed, says Severstal ceo, Alexey Mordashov.
