Severstal launches first tailor welded blanking line in Russia
Russia has launched its first tailor welded blanking line for the car industry, says Severstal. Its Vsevolozhsk plant has begun trial production of automotive blanks with a thickness of 0.5-3mm, and should start selling to foreign carmakers in Russia early next year, Severstal tells Kallanish. Vsevolozhsk is a joint venture with Japan’s Mitsui.
