SeAh to build Thai CHQ plant
South Korea’s SeAh Special Steel says it plans to open a new subsidiary in Thailand in November. The new plant will expand its CHQ wire sales in Southeast Asia’s growing car industry.
The new plant in Thailand will be 75% owned by SeAh and 25% by Posco, and will produce 40,000 tonnes/year of CHQ wire.
SeAh has a 40% market share of the Korean CHQ wire market and also has CHQ plants in China. In Vietnam it also produces seamless tubes.
