Scrap group SIms to sell off non-core assets
Global recycler, Sims Metal Management has decided on a strategic restructuring in the UK and Canada, which will see it divest some of its business, but not its core ferrous and non-ferrous scrap operations, the group tells Kallanish.
Sims has “determined certain loss-making assets to be outside the [company’s] strategic long-term interests:” these include glass and plastics recycling in the UK, a spokesman says.
