Saudi pig iron producer expects to begin output by year-end
Titanium Dioxide producer Cristal Global expects to commission by year-end its new ilmenite-processing plant in the south-western Saudi Arabian city of Jizan. The facility will produce up to 235,000 tonnes/year of high purity pig iron as a co-product, the company tells Kallanish.
The new facility’s primary operation will be the production of up to 500,000 t/y of titanium slag. Cristal plans to sell the pig iron output however to steelmakers in the king…
