Sail supplies billet to newly-commissioned rebar re-roller JV
Steel Authority of India (Sail) has commissioned a public-private joint venture TMT rebar mill with Prime Gold Private Limited. The 100,000 tonnes/year re-roller, located in Billowa, Madhya Pradesh, will be supplied with 60,000 t/y of billet from Sail.
Sail, which owns a 26% stake in the JV with Prime Gold holding the balance, will market the rebar through its own sales network and will pay conversion charges on a per tonne basis to its JV partner. “Th…
