Sail shipments down 3% in FY2015 despite record casting output, expansion continues
Steel Authority of India (Sail) increased crude steel production 10% on-year in the fiscal quarter through March to 3.72 million tonnes, but revenue fell 14% to INR 12,886 crores ($2.02 billion) and profit after tax declined 26% to INR 334 crores. In the fiscal year through March (FY2015) the firm increased continuously cast semi-finished product output by 6% to 10.34mt, its highest-ever annual total.
