Shangangs Rizhao port approved
Eastern China’s Shandong Iron and Steel (Shangang) has had the port development for its planned 8.5 million tonnes/year greenfield steelworks development in Rizhao approved by the Ministry of Transport, the ministry confirms.
The news puts the project on track for a 2016 finish, and confirms the trend of capacity shifting to coastal locations, which is good news for seaborne iron ore suppliers, Kallanish notes.
