Puyang installs slab caster for plate upgrade
Northern Chinese privately-owned steelmaker Hebei Puyang Steel has begun production at a 1.2 million tonnes/year slab caster, according to supplier SMS Siemag. The investment comes as the company attempts to upgrade its product quality and enter sectors with higher margins to survive the current downturn, Kallanish notes.
