Prospective UAE pipe mill awards technology, construction contracts
Al Gharbia Pipe Company has awarded Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts for its prospective Abu Dhabi-based longitudinal submerged arc welded (LSAW) pipe mill. SMS and partner Larson & Toubro are the contractors.
The 240,000 tonnes/year capacity mill is a joint venture between state-owned Senaat and Japanese firms JFE Steel and Marubeni-Itochu Steel (MISI). The latter two hold a combined 49% stake. The mill is expected to break gr…
