Prospective Arkansas steelworks receives first material for cold rolling mill construction
Prospective Arkansas-based hot strip producer Big River Steel has received the first batch of hollow sections that will make the structural skeleton for over 50% of its cold rolling mill, Kallanish learns from the firm.
Big River said last month delivery by SMS-Siemag of technology for its new hot strip is scheduled to begin with the next two months (see Kallanish 19 March). Production is expected to begin in approximately 12 months.
