Port Headland, Dampier closed by cyclone
The Australian iron ore terminals at Port Headland and Dampier have been closed and the ports evacuated after a cyclone warning was issued on Monday. The disruption could impact around 2 million tonnes/day of iron ore shipments, but iron ore prices appeared little moved by the news, Kallanish notes.
Futures prices on the Singapore Exchange barely reacted. The February contract last traded down $0.08/t as of 16.50 Beijing time at $67.95/t.
