Outokumpu invests 30m to replace propane with Liquefied Natural Gas

Finnish stainless steel producer Outokumpu is investing approximately €30 million to modify its Tornio mill, so that it will use liquefied natural gas (LNG) instead of propane, as at present. The fuel replacement is expected to reduce production costs and improve the Tornio mill’s competitiveness, says Outokumpu.
