Outokumpu closes Bochum melt shop
Finnish stainless steelmaker Outokumpu tells Kallanish that it has completed the ramp down of its melt shop in Bochum, Germany. This ends over 100 years of steelmaking on the site, Outokumpu says.
The ramp down of the Bochum melt shop was a key element in the significant industrial restructuring following the merger of Outokumpu and Inoxum in 2013, Outokumpu adds. The closure of Krefeld melt shop, also in 2013, was another key factor in the reorganisation.
