Nucor cuts first quarter earnings guidance but sees steel demand improvement ahead

US steelmaker Nucor has given another downbeat assessment of the US domestic steel market performance in the first quarter of 2015. In its Q1 15 guidance the company paints a picture of falling steel prices, stuttering demand and high levels of low-priced imports, although compensated marginally by lower raw material prices.
