North China mills resume work after APEC stoppage
Steelmakers in northern and eastern China’s Hebei and Shandong provinces have largely resumed production today after being forced to disrupt their operations to reduce pollution for a series of international political gatherings over 1-12 November. According to local media reports, the total stoppages may have amounted to as much as 750,000 tonnes/day of crude steel output in Hebei, although the true impact is likely less than this, Kallanish calculates.
