North American service centre steel shipments slow again in February
Shipments from steel service centres in North America decreased and steel inventories increased in February according to information released by the Illinois-based Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI), monitored by Kallanish. This follows the pattern seen in January.
In February 2015, U.S. service centre steel shipments decreased by -1.4% from February 2014. Steel product inventories meanwhile increased by 15.1% using the same comparison, MSCI says.
