Japan construction market uptick should improve steel demand says Nippon
Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corp says that Japanese steel demand was robust during the first quarter of 2014 despite a seasonal decline in civil engineering and construction activity. It believed there were signs of recovery in manufacturing despite the negative effect of an increase in consumption tax in Japan on 1 April.
