NLMK sees 2% Russia steel demand growth in Jan-Feb after 2014 net profit balloons
Russian steel consumption grew 2% year-on-year in January-February on the back of trader restocking and a 13% increase in pipe demand. However, there has been a seasonal slowdown in the construction sector, according to NLMK. Imports declined by 30% y-on-y, while dollar-denominated prices fell 10% versus Q4, because of the rouble's depreciation.
