NLMK contracts SMS to maintain Lipetsk BOFs and 9 casters for 5 years
Russia’s NLMK has contracted German plantmaker, SMS Group to service its basic oxygen furnace shops at Lipetsk full-time. This is the first time a Russian mill has outsourced maintenance for steelmaking on such a scale: Production at the Lipetsk BOF shops exceeds 12.5 million tonnes/year, NLMK tells Kallanish.
