Monthly US mill shipments rise but still lag 2014

While US steel mills increased their shipments from April to May, consignments are still lagging 2014, according to the latest data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). American mill shipments totalled 7,175,211 tons in May, a 1.2% month-on-month rise, but a -14.6% fall from the same month one year earlier when shipments reached 8,398,976 tons.
