Metinvest turns to natural gas at coke plant as conflict damages power lines
Ukraine’s Metinvest says that its Avdiivka coke plant has been cut off from electricity supply for four days due to damage to high voltage power lines arising from the armed conflict in the region. The company has made a decision to connect the plant to the gas distribution network in order to maintain the temperature in the coke batteries and prevent destruction of the brickwork [linings].
