Mechel moves to meet EU railway system supply standards
Russia’ Mechel says that it has been granted the status of potential rail supplier by Germany’s state railway company Deutsche Bahn AG.
The steelmaker’s Chelyabinsk Metallurgical plant has been approved as a potential supplier following an audit by Deutsche Bahn, Kallanish learns from the company. The mill will first need to take steps to obtain certification to comply with EU rail supply standards, the steelmaker says.
