May shipments fall, stocks climb at North American service centres
Steel product shipments from US and Canadian service centres during the month of May were down considerably from year-ago levels, Kallanish learns from the latest Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) report.
MSCI reports that steel shipments were off 12.6% in May, while inventories increase 11% year-on-year. At current shipment rates, end-of-May inventories represented 2.8-months of supply.
