Malaysia begins safeguard investigation on HRC imports
Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) says is has begun an investigation into imports of HRC. If preliminary findings indicate harm to domestic producers, then safeguard measures could be imposed, followed by antidumping duties, Kallanish notes.
The investigation is in response to a petition by local producer Megasteel. It alleges that HRC imports increased sharply over 2012-2014, harming domestic industry.
