Major aerospace manufacturer tests new alloy from Carpenter Technology
A new stainless alloy from Carpenter Technology Corp will soon be used by a major aerospace manufacturer, Kallanish learns.
The US specialty steel producer is currently working with the unnamed OEM to qualify a new corrosion-resistant, high-strength precipitation hardenable (PH) stainless steel, CarTech Custom 565, for use in its landing gear. Testing is expected to take 18 months to complete.
